September is ovarian and gynecological cancers awareness month. Ovarian cancer is often called the "silent killer" because symptoms can be subtle. Gynecological cancers include cancers of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina, and vulva. Early detection is key. Knowing your body and recognizing persistent bloating, pelvic pain, or changes in eating habits can save lives. Regular screenings and awareness of family history are vital steps in prevention.
4th Annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk, Run and Health Fair
More than 350 people participated in our 4th Annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk, Run, and Health Fair on Saturday, September 12th. Each participant and vendor showed up with purpose, sneakers laced, hearts open, and a shared goal: to raise awareness, honor families affected by ovarian cancer, and connect the community with health resources that can make a real difference.
The 4th Annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk, Run and Health Fair brought together walkers, runners, vendors, student organizations, public leaders, sponsors, families, athletes, and advocates for a day centered on education, movement, and support. It wasn’t just a fitness event. It was a reminder that awareness grows fastest when people gather face to face, ask questions, and carry the message back into their homes, schools, gyms, workplaces, and neighborhoods. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up this year. We look forward to seeing you at our 5th Annual Faith Deanna Johnson Foundation Walk, Run, and Health Fair on September 11th, 2027, which would be Faith's 33rd birthday.

Charity Golf Beneficiary Ceremony
On September 11th, we attended the Delaware City Refining Company Charity Golf Beneficiary Ceremony Check Presentation to share about ovarian cancer and to receive a donation from the Delaware City Refining Company. We are so grateful for their support of our organization which has enabled us to fund programs impacting the community, offer resources to families in need, and create spaces for healing and connection. Every donation, volunteer hour, and word of encouragement has contributed to executing the mission of our organization and a reflection of Faith's legacy through action and compassion.
