ABOUT DREAMS OF FAITH

Faith Deanna Johnson Foundation - "Dreams of Faith" a (501c3) organization, has a mission to implement the dreams of a young vibrant, loving, and compassionate soul named Faith, that is now a Heavenly Angel. Her Mission - Saving Lives from Ovarian Cancer!

Faith left us with a challenge to provide support to young ladies fighting this often, silent disease; to raise awareness, educate, and end the prognosis and diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer!

This cancer is known to be a quiet, misunderstood, and misdiagnosed disease, for several reasons. To highlight some of the factors contributing to this problem include: a lack of awareness and often a lack of early symptoms (education), non-standardized testing (research), ill-advised assumptions that assumes it affects only middle-aged women (awareness), are just a few...to mention for now. Only 17% of cases are found in the early stages.

We are aggressively attacking our mission to combat ovarian cancer and provide  the community with awareness. Read more below about our purpose and the life of Faith Deanna Johnson.

ABOUT FAITH &
THE FAITH DEANNA JOHNSON FOUNDATION

Faith Deanna Johnson, a rising media producer had dreams of becoming a socially responsible journalist - film producer. Conquering many odds at birth, Faith was blessed to have a community of believers, including her parents, who supported her journey from infancy to adulthood. As a preemie at birth, she earned her name "Faith". A true Angel on this earth, Faith touched so many lives with her warm, compassionate, and loving personality. She walked out her faith in our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, as a volunteer for several charitable causes including her church.

Faith was a champion of following your dreams.  She graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Film & Journalism. In her quest to produce socially responsible films and positive news, she continued her education at Temple University for graduate studies. She graduated at age 22, with her master’s degree,

in Film Studies. During her graduate studies, Faith was chosen as a paid intern at

NBC in Philadelphia.

After obtaining her master’s degree, Faith started her professional career as a news producer at an NBC - affiliate in the Ohio area. Faith's frustration with negative stories being consistently prioritized, led her to change her interest to movie/TV production. Faith was then accepted into the sought after, inaugural cohort of the Amazing Stories Apprenticeship in the state of Georgia, founded by film producer, Rob Hardy. This training created many opportunities to gain experience and support several TV

series and films as a production assistant.

Unexpected illness eventually caused Faith to realign her professional career. After

a series of hospital visits, misdiagnosis and failures in our medical systems, Faith

was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. While fighting cancer, she had many dreams to help other young ladies such as herself. After the devastating

news, she remained a believer, positive, hopeful and a dreamer until the end.

The Faith Deanna Johnson Foundation, incorporated as a 501c-3 organization. We are currently working in the community to bring awareness to women and their families. Saving Lives - Advocacy - Awareness - Early Detection

OUR PURPOSE

The #1 Cause of Gynecologic Cancer Deaths

A PAP Test Does Not Detect This Disease

Dreams of Faith welcomes partnerships with organizations that share our mission of promoting ovarian cancer awareness.  Together, we will make a difference in the fight against this SILENT killer!

Faith's parents initiated the efforts to incorporate this organization and carry-out her dreams since God reclaimed this Angel in 2021. The Faith Deanna Johnson Foundation-“Dreams of Faith", has a mission to end the lack of education (#1 cause of gynecologic cancer deaths-Ovarian Cancer, #5 Cause of cancer-related death in women.) and awareness of ovarian cancer that affects young ladies as well as older women. We are pleased to have just completed our 2nd Annual Walk for Faith & Together in Teal this past September 7, 2024.  Our team joined the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for its Walk again this year.  Our Team - A "Walk for Faith" raised over $4,000 to date for the NOCC's fundraising efforts towards research for ovarian cancer.

Our walks for faith have raised over $15,000 to date. We are grateful for each donor.  We expect to increase our reach each year. The funds raised have not only supported the national effort, but our local grass roots campaigns, raising awareness,  supporting advocacy and other community efforts to fight ovarian cancer.  We can't operate only from the fundraising efforts from our walks, please keep checking for our ongoing fundraising efforts. Our goal is to help all women, especially targeting young ladies such as Faith Deanna Johnson, and those most often impacted by the disparities in health care of women.

We want Faith's dreams to become a reality, where young women’s voices are heard, when they experience unexplainable pain, which is often ignored, or

misdiagnosed by the medical community. Most cases are diagnosed at an unacceptable late stage!

Our goal is to increase awareness and programs, such that all stakeholders in the lives of our young ladies recognize the symptoms of this disease.

We will continue to support national efforts; your donation will help us effectively raise awareness by targeting communities that are most often underserved. Our efforts right now are in the state of Delaware. Read our News page that highlights our local support and progress! We will continue to offer targeted solutions that educate and provide financial/emotional support to young ladies that are fighting this disease as well as their families.

Please JOIN our FIGHT to CURE. Help us celebrate "Faith's Dreams" becoming a reality…. awareness, education, EARLY DETECTION, a CURE!  Tax deductible donations are always needed, welcomed, and appreciated, as this mission continues after our annual walks have ended.

Ending Ovarian Cancer needs FAITH!
